A few months ago I made a post about my “selfish sewing” plans and I’m finally posting an update. I’ve made 3 out of 5 of the things I wanted… which is a win I think! Here is the first (and maybe my favorite) of the 3 garments.
Pattern: Sewaholic – Alma Blouse
View: Combination of A and B
Fabric: Monaluna – Free Range – Foxy
& Kaffe Fassett – Shot Cotton – Clementine
I just have to say I LOVE the fit, shape and structure this blouse has! I made a previous version in double gauze and while that one is super soft and dreamy, the great fit of this top is lost due to the fabric. I combined View A and B, picking and choosing the details I liked from each. I’m a sucker for a peter pan collar (View B) and love the cap sleeves on View A. My one and only little gripe for this pattern is the neck facing. Even with under stitching and tacking down at the shoulder seams the facing still wants to pop out of the neckline and say HI! I think I may try binding the neck next time around and see if I prefer that. Besides my facing feelings, I absolutely love this pattern!
The combination of fish eye darts and bust darts make the fit A +
Have you made this blouse? I’d love to see your versions!
